While some were writing him off, there were many who were supporting his ideas and plans that he had set up for a ‘New India’.
The grand ceremony saw Narendra Modi, taking oath as India’s 15th Prime Minister in front of a huge gathering .
Regardless of who supported and who opposed, Modi’s Swearing-in ceremony was a starry affair. The who’s who of the country and overseas were spotted having a gala time at the biggest event hosted by Rashtrapati Bhavan.
While there were foreign dignitaries seen attending the event, Bollywood wasn’t far behind either.

This man was certainly the man of the hour! It was simply great to see this ‘Dabangg’ star attending the event.
Dressed in a black, the actor looked his usual self, much to himself.
He was however accompanied by his father Salim Khan who is a noted scriptwriter himself.
Yeah, it’s quite unlikely to see him be present in the vicinity of Salman but, yes, he was there too.
Vivek was spotted in a purple ‘Galaband’ with the symbol of Modi’s political party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
Atleast there, Salman and Vivek were seen smiling knowing the presence of each other around.
The original ‘Dream Girl’ of Bollywood who contested from Mathura constituency on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket, was spotted with her husband Dharmendra.
She looked classy in a blackish-purple Saree.
The yesteryear star looked dapper in a formal suit and sunglasses.
He was more than happy to let his wife grab all the limelight, given her win in the elections.
The star-politican was seen enjoying the event with his wife and friends around.
He looked to be in a good mood and was seen sharing a joke or two with his friends- Hema Malini and Dharmendra, who were seated right next to him.
He was in no mood to become ‘Khamosh’, though!
TV actress-turned-BJP leader Smriti Irani took oath as Cabinet Minister in the Narendra Modi government.
She looked her usual self, dressed in a casual Saree.

Kirron, who won the elections from Chandigarh on a Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) ticket, was seen giggling all throughout the event. She exchanged pleasantries with those around and looked her usual self.
Her husband, Anupam Kher, was enjoying the proceedings and was more than happy to let his wife grab all the attention.
Although he lost the elections, Bappi da attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was spotted with a bright smile on his face.
This Bollywood beauty of yesteryears was spotted looking her usual classy self while she enjoyed the proceedings.
Ace Bollywood Director,Madhur Bhandarkar, who is known to make films on hard-hitting subjects, attended the event too.
He has been vocal about his support for the now Prime Minister, for quite some time now.
The BJP winner from Gurdaspur and superstar of the yester years was seen enjoying the event and having a close look at the proceedings.
BJP’s winner from North-East Delhi and popular Bhojpuri Singer, Manoj Tiwari attended the event and was his usual gacious self as he exchanged pleasantries with those around.
Invitations were apparently also sent to megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and melody queen Lata Mangeshkar.
The 84-year-old singer, however, wrote a letter to Modi apologising for her absence from the ceremony citing ill health.
“Despite getting your invitation I had to decline it with a heavy heart as my health did not permit me to attend the ceremony,” Lata said in a hand-written letter, which was posted by Modi on Twitter.
Wishing Modi for his new beginning, Lata said, “Narendra bhai, today the whole country is with you as you begin your new journey.”
Many Bollywood celebs congratulated Narendra Modi and lauded him as the beckon of hope for India.
AAP supporter and music composer Vishal Dadlani also congratulated the PM-designate
Bollywood’s Showman, Subhash Ghai, tweeted :
“Today young india is happy that #narendra modi #bjp is trying its best to eliminate the fear n enmity btw india n Pakistan”.
Meanwhile, Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted :
“Delhi beckons! Feel privileged, honoured & proud that I’ll be able to witness in person the historic moment of swearing-in of Modiji today.”
Anupam Kher too was excited about attending the event.
Expressing his feelings, he tweeted:
“On my way to Delhi. Looking forward to the beginning of a new era. Jai Ho.:) #SwearingInceremony”
Punit Malhotra of ‘I hate Luv Storys’ fame, tweeted:
“Am a big supporter of the @narendramodi gov. Now thatit’s all coming together just hope this gov lives up to the expectations.”
With such big Bollywood celebrities attending Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, it is clear that our stars are definitely excited to see how this government shapes up.
