What is a hero without a good antagonist? We presume your answer to be, not strong enough. If the hero shines on the screen, it is solely because a good villain gives him an opportunity to. Had there not been a great villainous act in a film, the hero’s part is assumed to be incomplete. In any film, Bollywood or Hollywood, an Antagonist is more important than a strong hero.
This year too we saw some brilliant performances in gray shades, pulled off by B-Towners. Encapsulated below are the finest actors in a negative role, we got to see on the Big Screen in 2014.
5. Govinda in Kill Dil
At number five, we place our favorite Chi Chi,who was seen in a gray shade in Shaad Ali’s Kill Dil. Though the film failed to impress many, all in unison applauded for Govinda’s negative role. We surely loved him in his Bhaiyaji avatar. His acting was poised and composed.
4. Riteish Deshmukh in Ek Villain
The man known for his comic timing, just simply amazed us all in his villainous act in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain. He floored all by his acting skills and made even villainy look compassionate. This was deemed to be Riteish’s finest performances so far.
3. Tahir Basin in Mardaani
This newbie, Tahir Basin just stole the show in Pradeep Sarkar’s Mardaani. The critical acclaim that came his way was really worthy. His delivered a massive Bollywood debut and all appreciated his performance.
2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Kick
If there were to be any man who would hog all attention while being in the same frame as Salman Khan, then it will be Nawazuddin Siddiqui. His negative role in Sajid Nadiawala’s Kick just was what everyone was seeking. For the scenes Nawaz was on screen, people forgot to even look at Sallu Mia. He was that good.
1.Kay Kay Menon in Haider
At numero uno, we place an act that is unanimously worth being at number one. Kay Kay Menon in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider was scintillating. His acting finesse needs no introduction and the actor delivered up to the expectations. He played his part too well and we were awed to see him in the dark shade.
