Yes folks, you heard it right! The sensational hit that is Anjali Menon’s Bangalore Days is going to be remade as a bilingual Tamil/Telugu flick soon!
The Tamil production company PVP Cinemas have bagged the remake rights to the original Malayalam blockbuster from Anwar Rasheed Entertainments and they are keen on repeating the success of the first version.
The company had recently produced the film Vallavanukku Pullum Aayutham, starring Santhaanam in a lead role for the very first time. So, obviously they are a proven commodity with their market analysis and have a penchant for venturing in to uncharted territories when it comes to good projects.
Let’s hope it pays off this time around as well!
As per the usual, already a few names are being tossed around as to who’s going to be playing the lead roles in the film, and Bangalore Days had quite the ensemble, star studded cast to begin with! We’re talking the youth brigade of Mollywood here – Dulquer Salman, Nivin Pauly, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, Parvathy Menon, Isha Talwar and Nithya Menon and some formidable veteran actors!
The candidates currently under consideration for the remake by the fans, or more precisely the stars they’re rooting for are Nayantara, Trisha Krishnan, Samantha and Tapsee.
The male leads are an even bigger point of debate with the audience but it will be interesting to see who gets picked in the end. This one is definitely going to be a prize fight and with good reason..
The Malayalam version is currently breaking all the set records, and may very well be on its way to being the biggest hit ever in Mollywood – taking the coveted title away from Drishyam, which is yet another movie being remade in multiple languages, by the way.
Sources say the Tamil version might have a change in the title for tax purposes.
