Epic film ‘Baahubali’, which has become the pride of Telugu cinema after setting the name of Tollywood high on the map of Indian cinema, has now won the Best Film trophy at the just announced 63rd National Film Awards.
It may be noted that classic film Shankarabharanam was the last Telugu movie to receive Best Film Jury Award.
Acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has won the Best Director award for directing the magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has won the Best Actor trophy for his impeccable performance in ‘Piku’. Queen Kangana Ranaut has won the Best Actress award for her performance in the commercial blockbuster film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns.”
With some acclaimed movies hitting the silver screen last year, it was a fairly difficult task for the jury to select the winners.
