Tollywood popular comedian AVS (Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam) passed away due to illness at his residence in Hyderabad on Friday (November 8, 2013) Night.He was 56.
AVS was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabd recently with complaints about functioning of his liver and kidneys. He underwent liver transplantation in 2008 and AVS’s daughter Sriprasanthi donated a part of her liver to AVS. He is survived by wife, a daughter and a son.
AVS hailed from Tenali town in Guntur district, AVS started his career as a journalist with Telugu daily Andhra Jyothy.He enterted into Tollywood film industry in 1993 with a Mr Pellam film.He got the Nandi award for his first film and he played a memorable comic role in the film.His dialogue "Ado Tutthi" in the film is still remebers Telugu audience.After that he acted in several films and he acted in more than 400 films.His last release was Shriya Saran starrer Pavitra.
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Harikrishna, Tollywood film industry and others also mourned AVS’s death.
