Pawan Kalyan’s blockbuster family entertainer, Attarintiki Daredi, is creating havoc with overseas collections, especially United States. The film that opened all over US on 26th September saw all the theaters completely booked out over the weekend. The collections have been reported to reach a smashing $409,150 by Friday itself, and with a premier opening of $345,350, a whooping opening collection ever garnered for a Telugu film. The trade pundits now predict a windfall with overseas and expect to see a new record by the film after the likes of Doookudu, SVSC and Baadshah. The last film that collected the highest ever for the first week was SVSC and now one has to see if the record will be broken. The trade analysts in India predict a new record by Attarintiki Daredi with collections, presumptions floating that this movie will definitely surpass the highest ever collections made by S S Rajamouli’s Magadheera. Going by the frenzy and the excellent reviews from all over, that definitely doesn’t look impossible.
The film makers suffered a big blow post the piracy that happened days before with 90 minute footage of the film leaked by an in house production assistant. While the special team is still trying to crack down the piracy mafia in the South, the collections speak volumes of the fact that a good film will battle all odds and win at the end of the day.
Stay tuned for our box office reports incoming on Attarintiki Daredi shortly.
