Asif Ali’s back with a new look for his latest movie Sapthamashri Thaskaraha, directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon – and yes, it’s quite a ‘rough n tough’ look for the dashing young actor who plays a thief in the movie.
This could, in essence, be called Asif’s return to the screens after some time away and the recent birth of his first child. So, congrats all around Asif!
Now the movie, as the name suggests, is about seven thieves or as the director puts it – seven people who are forced into some undesirable situations and have to come out on top. The movie which also stars Prithviraj as one of the thieves (likely the main one) has quite an ensemble cast with some interesting additions and dare we say – some attractions as well…
We are, of course, talking about Flower Battsetseg, the gorgeous but little known Mongolian circus artiste who plays one of the thieves, but has little or no lines in the movie. Apparently, the director saw her perform once and cast her on the spot because she was perfect for the role!
The plot, overall, does remind one of the hit Hollywood movie Ocean’s Eleven which also had an acrobatic thief and a star studded cast. Could this be the inspiration for Anil Radhakrishnan Menon’s flick? Maybe.. maybe not.
In any case, the movie is promised to be a fun filled roller coaster of laughs and thrills, and from the looks of it so far, it seems like it might just keep its promise to the fans.
This is Anil’s second movie to date; the first one being North 24 Kaatham starring Fahadh Faasil, which went on to win several awards. Let’s hope the director lives up to his track record and delivers a hit this time too.
