The Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) today alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Government was illegally detaining a large number of Telangana supporters to suppress the statehood agitation as per the measures suggested by the Srikrishna Committee.
JAC Convener M. Kodandaram claimed the eighth chapter of the Centre-appointed committee on Telangana has made various recommendations on how to suppress the agitation.
The Congress Government appears to be implementing the same measures by illegally detaining Telangana supporters, he alleged.
The JAC would organise a protest at Indira Park here against the illegal detentions, Kodandaram said.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the Centre to make public the eighth chapter of the committee report which has been withheld by the Union Government.(PTI)
