Veteran actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao made an official press statement on Saturday, stating that he has been diagnosed with cancer. The legendary film persona ensured that he has a strong will to fight ailments, which was clearly proven even in the past. "I am a man of strong will. I will face it. I am not scared" said the 90 year old actor to the media, inspiring many. He mentioned that he wanted to make an official statement as his hospital visits will be more prominent from here on and that people should not guess the conclusions. He was earlier diagnosed with a heart condition in 1974, post which the actor had to undergo a surgery. He proved his doctors wrong, who predicted then that ANR will not live for more than 14 years after the surgery. "It has been 25 years since i survived another heart attack and i have been hale and healthy. I am not shocked or scared at the cancer diagnosis now. I have a strong will and the best wishes of the people with me. Perhaps i can create another record by surviving cancer" said ANR who looked strong and cheerful while addressing the press. His family was by his side at the time of press meet. Star Nagarjuna, his son and Amala, his daughter in law were present along with his daughter’s family and grandsons Sumanth, Sushant and Naga Chaitanya. Clearly, ANR has an inspiring grit and strength, as felt by many.
He was at Annapurna Studios shooting for his film with his son and grandson, Manam, when he called the press to reveal the truth. We wish ANR a speedy recovery and yet another victory.
