Surya – Samantha starrer gangster genre action flick Anjaan, directed by Lingusamy, is by far one of the most anticipated films this year and the proof is that most of the rights of the movie – overseas and several regional ones – have been sold even before its audio launch!
The international rights of the movie, which is being produced by Lingusamy under the banner of his own company Thiruppathi Brothers in association with UTV Motion Pictures, were sold to Yahaya Bhai of the United India Exports for a humongous price, according to the reports.
The regional rights of the movie have been grabbed too – which includes all three other south Indian branches of the fraternity – Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The Telugu rights were bought by Lagadapati Sridhar, who is the brother of Lagadapati Rajagopal, and the proposed name for the Telugu dubbed version is Sikandar.
The film’s makers have, however, decided to not start the rights sale in sections of Tamil Nadu until after the audio launch of the flick. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the tunes for this one, and given everything else that’s going on with the project they are expected to be chart topping numbers as per the usual.
The cast of the film, which holds the added attraction of Surya in dual roles and the extra surprise of a more glamorous Samantha, also has veteran Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpai and others like Vidyut Jamwal, Rajpal Yadav and Dalip Tahil in the mix.
