Movies launching promotional games for mobile platforms, is becoming a pretty common trend these days and it seems N Lingusamy and team wanted to get on board. And so we have it folks, the Anjaan game for Android!
The game, titled Anjaan Race Wars, was launched yesterday in Chennai at a ceremony that included Suriya, Lingusamy and Dhananjayan of UTV Motion Pictures. The team behind the highly anticipated movie is leaving very little to chance, in terms of promoting it, as is evidenced by the sheer number of events they have hosted for it since the teaser trailer came out.
Though the audio launch in Tamil Nadu did not go as they planned, it looks like the Telugu version will be one to look forward to with the list of invited superstars growing to include names like Nagarjuna and Kamal Haasan.
Now let us talk about the game, shall we?
The central character is that of Suriya’s, which you get to play as. It is primarily a racing game with some action. You essentially chase goons in a car – some of whom are trying to escape and some others who will shoot back at you.
The weapons at your disposal for a bit of bang, bang fun are a pistol and a shotgun. The main feature of the game is the car you drive which gives you options of shield, nitro boost, power ups etc.
Sounds quite decent for a very simple movie based game, huh?
Anjaan is set to come out on August 15th. The movie has Suriya playing the lead and Samantha Ruth Prabhu essaying the heroine’s part. Manoj Bajpai, Vidyut Jamwal and Dalip Tahil among others form the supporting cast.
The film is a gangster story set against the backdrop of the criminal underworld in Mumbai.
Directed by Lingusamy and produced by him under the banner of his company, Thiruppathi Brothers, in association with UTV Motion Pictures, the film’s music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
If the reception to the teaser and the songs are anything to go by, this one is poised to strike gold at the collections office.
