There are quite a few film makers we know and have in our Telugu film industry who had created their mark with the kind of movies they make and they always try to tell the stories by which they get excited without thinking in the regular commercial way. They may not get commercial success but their films are well appreciated and watched extensively when telecasted in TVs or streamed online. Mohana Krishna Idraganti is one of them and he always tried to entertain audience with his kind of movies like Grahanam, Astha Chamma, Anthaka Mundhu Aa Taruvatha, Gentleman and now coming with a slapstick comedy in the name of “Ami Thumi” which has Avasarala Srinivas, Adavi Sesh, Vennela Kishore, Eesha Rebba, Aditi Myakal in lead roles. Let’s see how it works on us as it is releasing today.
Story
Gangadhar Rao is a strict father who do not like his daughter (Eesha) and son’s (Srinivas Avasarala) love affairs. When he get to know about them he fixes his daughter’s marriage with Sree Chilipi (Vennela Kishore). He also gets to know that his son is in love with his rival person’s daughter Maaya (Aditi). Hugely disappointed by this he throws his son out of the house and locks his daughter in a room to avoid her meeting with Ananthv(Adavi Sesh) with whom she is in love with. How the daughter and son of Gangadhar Rao marry whom they are in love with and how they avoid Sree Chilipi is the rest of the story.
Cast and Performance
Thanikella Bharani as Gangadhar Rao, a strict father who is against about the love affairs of his kids is nice and performed well. Adivi Sesh looks and performs good. Srinivas Avasarala is nice in his role. Vennela Kishore is the best part of the movie and we cannot imagine this “Ami Thumi” without him. He is so good with his timing and humorous body language. Whenever he appears on screen, auditorium is tickled. Eesha Rebba is nice and looks good. Aditi is okay and could have performed better. All other characters are good and performed according to the extent of the roles given to them.
Writing Department
This movie “Ami Thumi” has an interesting storyline and it is developed well by writer and director Indraganti Mohana Krishna. Screenplay is engaging and dialogues are witty and humorous.
Technical Departments
Tunes rendered by Mani Sharma are nice and good to hear with the fun in the lyrics they have written. His work can be surely felt while watching the movie and his background score music is nice. Cinematography by P G Vindha is nice and he has captured some nice visuals. Editing by Marthand Venkatesh is good. Production values are apt.

Verdict
As said and previewed in the promotional teasers and posters “Ami Thumi” is a humorous film which runs between two couples. First half begins in a way that doesn’t engage audience where all the characters are getting introduced slowly. Once it is done, movie movies into another phase of comical ride and Vennela Kishore is the man of all entertaining portions and his body language and timing worked out well and made this first half a fun ride. This half ends in an interesting way and creates the necessary excitement among audience for the second half. Second half has very funny moments and whenever there is a scene of Vennela Kishore, there is a tickling sensation in the theatre and audience enjoy his comedy so well. This movie is his one man show. To sumup, Ami Thumi is Vennela Kishore’s fun ride.
