Amala Paul is currently, without a doubt, one of the busiest and most sought after actresses in the south Indian film industry with hits in each language. Her stardom, though, is not solely based on her looks and talent but on her intelligent choices as well. The young actress has made it a point to play character oriented roles along with the more glamorous and flamboyant commercially targeted ones.
With her wedding bells ringing in June, with long time sweetheart director Vijay, the actress has made it a point to approach her career like a thorough professional. In fact, she started shooting her third Malayalam project Mili, directed by Rajesh Pillai of Traffic fame, on May 9 at Trivandrum and intends to wrap it up by the time of her impending nuptials.
The movie is a departure from the colorful, larger than life characters for Amala as she is playing the title role of Mili – an ordinary girl next door with her share of problems who fights against the odds life deals her. The starlet said that it was indeed the sheer difference between her personality and that of Mili’s that prompted her to do the role.
The flick is reported to be a female character driven one and Nivin Pauly is to play the love interest of Mili in a cameo appearance – pretty much leaving the weight of carrying the movie on the shoulders of the able Amala.
Director Rajesh Pillai has said that the movie, like his previous one, will carry an underlying message of social relevance.
Will this gorgeous young actress continue in the industry after her marriage? Well, Amala says yes. She declares with zest and passion that she is an actor first and that she is lucky to have found someone who shares her love for the craft and the industry.
Best wishes Amala! We eagerly await the movie…
