Actress Alia Bhatt may hail from the prestigious filmy background, but the girl keeps it real when it comes to working in films. Being the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt has not made her leap to major projects just like that and Alia had to earn her way through, just like any other newcomer. The actress confirmed recently that she will not be working with the Bhatt camp any sooner.
“I am not being offered any film. They are launching other people. Giving 100 crore to other people. But jokes apart i think they are waiting for the right project and the right time. Till now nothing has come my way. It will happen. And when it does it will be a bang” she said.
Alia made her debut as a child actor in Sangharsh and later on worked in three other prestigious banners. She made an official entry as a starlet with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year and was instantly applauded for her talent. Alia will now be seen in a very non glamorous avatar in Highway directed by Imtiaz Ali. This is the story of a young girl who finds freedom in her bondage after being kidnapped. Interestingly, Alia also turned singer with this film and sang two songs composed by Madras Mozart A R Rahman – Sooha Saha and Patakha Guddi.
Talking about how she portrayed her character, Alia said – “My only training came from Imtiaz. I dont like to get reference from anyone because the spontaeinty goes away”
Upon her being a singer, Alia shared views about being multi-faceted. “We have some really good playback singers. The industry has some beautiful voices. It is interesting also that actors do their own singing. I don’t know about singing in other films but i’m intrigued to learn music. Rahman sir insisted that i should learn” she said.
Highway stars Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles and is a February 21 release.
