Besides being signed for several films, Akshay Kumar has been roped in for a film called ‘Airlift’ which is based upon a humungous evacuation programme for Indians stuck in Kuwait. Akki is all set to romance super-talented actress Nimrit Kaur, who is presently Hollywood bound. Nimrit awed all by her performance in The Lunchbox, and now is making waves upon being signed for popular TV series Homeland. She will be seen playing Akshay’s wife in ‘Airlift’. This will be the first time, the two will share screenspace.
Akki plays the role of Ranjit Katyal, who aids the very high-profile human evacuation programme and is a billionaire. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift is to go on floors mid next year. The shooting locales are mainly Middle East, so that the Kuwaiti war zones are depicted on screen. The film will be produced jointly by T-Series, Cape of Good Films, Crouching Tigers and Emmay Entertainment.
