The Congress will wait till 2013 to announce any decision on Telangana statehood, which it will time with the May 2014 General Elections. According to talks in the national capital, there is no plan to take an immediate decision on Telangana.
Different reasons are attributed to this line of action: One, the party can wait till 2013 to announce Telangana statehood so that the political growth of the Kadapa MP, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, can be contained. Second, if any decision is announced now, there could be a backlash from the other regions.The Congress feels that it will be able to convince its MPs and MLAs about its plan.
