Veteran actress and popular dancer Jyothi Lakshmi (Jayamalini’s sister), who took the audience by storm with her sexy dance numbers is no more. A while ago, she takes her last breath due to ill-health at Chennai. She acted in about 1000 films as an actress, dancer and comedian in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films.
Item queens Jyothi Lakshmi and Jayamalini are the sisters and they ruled the film industry in 70 and 80’s.
She acted with veteran actors like MGR, Sivaji Ganeshan, NTR, ANR, Shoban Babu,Haranath, Jayashankar and Krishna. Jyothi Lakshmi acted in about 300 Telugu films, including Monagadostunnadu Jagrattha, Mosagallaku Mosagallu, Korada Rani and Pilla Piduga most of which are with Superstar Krishna. She has been doing Tamil serials and acted in Telugu serials.
