South Actor R.Madhavan, who was recently seen in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, has been booked in a land grabbing case.
In detail, Madhavan who bought 7 acres of land in Kodaikanal, where major of the lands are owned by film stars and politicians has landed himself into trouble as his land falls near a canal that supplies irrigation and drinking water from Kodaikanal waterfalls. Madhavan installed an electric fence around the canal, which irked the farmers who own 50 acres of teak plantations.
A local farmer complained to the local collector and alleged that the authorities are behaving as agents of Madhavan and forcing them to sell their lands and farms to actor who in return pays them more than the actual market rate.
The Collector ordered the related authorities to give a brief report on the following incidents. While, Madhavan is booked for allegedly encroaching unclaimed government land and obstructing irrigation and drinking water source and the godown that is used to store seeds and grains.
