The number of missing children has increased almost every year in Mumbai. In Gurgaon alone the police admitted that 5 children go missing every month. The city police commissioner in Gurgaon Mr. S S Deswal launched a program called Child Se Dosti on Tuesday and admitted to the disturbing fact that 55 children went missing in the past 11 months and 34 of them have been traced and reunited with their families. Mr Deswal also informed that the frequent moving of the families of missing children make it very difficult for the police in tracing the kids but said that they are still on the job. He also advised that children, parents and schools should immediately report such cases instead of suppressing them, and noted that Mumbai police has already declared zero tolerance for child abuse.
