Bollywood muscle man Salman Khan is one hero in Hindi cinema whose films are watched all across the Nation and across borders. The hit row that Salman started with ‘Dabangg,’ is still continuing after registering another hit with his latest release ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.’ After portraying characters such as a Police, lover, bodyguard and a thief, Salman is now gearing up for the toughest film in the career.
‘Sultan,’ in which is playing the role of a wrestler is the first biopic that Salman is ever acting in. Taking this as a pride issue, Salman is putting in all efforts to look, talk and feel as a wrestler does. This character is demanding Salman to put someone weight at the same time also to lose some. This film has a lot to talk about. Let’s look into few interesting aspects that Salman’s ‘Sultan’ has.
1.) Weight Transformation:
Since Salman Khan plays the role of a wrestler in Sultan, he has to go three different body transformations to suit the character. The first phase is of gaining good weight. This phase is an important one where Sallu will beef up some extra calories and then transform it into the necessary physique. The second stage is that of getting rid of extra flesh to obtain a lean look and the final one is the muscular look. In this, Salman has to build some muscles simply to look like a wrestler.
“I will have to get bigger and stronger which is difficult. I am 88Kgs now. I will have to reach 94 and then come down to 70 again. It will be all muscles” Salman said regarding the weight transformation.
2.) No Dupes:
Salman Khan has decided not to use any body double for the action sequences in Sultan. The Dabangg Khan underwent a neuro-surgery in 2011, doctors warned him not to perform any action scenes since his metabolism got tampered. As per doctor’s advice, Salman had a dupe for action scenes in Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Ready and Kick.
But for Sultan, Salman decided to perform the stunts by himself. Simply speaking he will be doing all the dangerous wrestling scenes for Sultan. What we have to recollect here is Aamir who is also doing a wrestling movie ‘Dangaal’ has injured his arms while performing a wrestling scene.
3.) Haryanvi Accent:
‘Sultan’ is a biopic that is made on the real life events of wrestler-Sultan Ali Khan. Sultan Ali Khan is a Haryana-based wrestler. Since Salman has to portray this character, he will be undergoing few Haryani accent learning classes. It is reported that the Yash Raj films that are producing Sultan have hired actor Rahul Bagga to train Salman in Haryani accent.
The film ‘Sultan’ that coats Salman Khan as a wrestler also has another important character- the coach. Director Ali Abbas Zafar, who also wrote a heavy narration for Sultan’s coach, needed someone who is strong, muscular and tall. Knowing this, Salman felt that Randeep Hooda would be the perfect one for the character and suggest his name to the director. The team then approached Randeep and he agreed to do the character.
Earlier rumors broke that Hollywood hero Sylvester Stallone and Sanjay Dutt could play the role of the coach. Finally, the team settled with Randeep Hooda.
In the past, Randeep and Salman were seen together in ‘Kick.’
5.) Brother-in-law in for Sultan:
Salman, who has a terrific track record of introducing new faces into films, has planned to rope in his brother-in-law (Arpita Khan’s husband) Ayush Sharma for ‘Sultan.’
Ayush, who belongs to a political family, will sooner be seen as a hero. In the mean time, he will join Salman’s ‘Sultan’ as an assistant director.
‘Sultan’ directed by Ali Abbas Zafar is produced by Yash Raj Films. The leading lady in this film isn’t yet finalised.
‘Sultan’ will strike in theaters on EID 2016.
