Kannada actress Mythriya Gowda was punished with two years’ imprisonment by the city magistrate court for assaulting a traffic constable over an alleged row in Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru, in 2011.
Her sister and two others were also sentenced with one year imprisonment. Going into the details, MythriyaGowda was caught by traffic constable for talking over the phone while driving. Her sister and two relatives were in the car with her.
Mythriya had a heated argument with the policeman and it took an ugly turn as the four women assaulted him. Following a complaint by him at the Basaveshwaranagar police station, they booked all the ladies for assaulting a policeman. The fifth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrateon this Friday found Gowda and her relatives guilty and awarded with imprisonment.
But, the accused obtained bail in no time and are likely to appeal in a higher court.
