Movie making is a very tiresome process for the technicians involved and risky affair for the producer as his money is put on for the project. Even a minute mistake from the team involved for a movie makes the result bad and it will effect on the producer. No producer is willing to dare with the debutante directors as they feel it too risky. But, there are some producers who are encouraging new talent like Sai Korrapati, BVSN Prasad and some other. Sai Korrapati has produced a movie with debutante director Krishna RV Marimuthu starring Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Lavanya Tripati as leads which has debutante cinematographer, debutante editor. The buzz the trailers have created is great and let’s see how it works on us as it is releasing today.
Arjun (Chay Akkineni) is a aspiring drone maker who is encouraged to be so by his parents (Rao Ramesh and Revathi). They both do social work treating patients in remote villages under their Swasthya foundation. Arjun falls in love with Anjali (Lavanya Tripati) who is a daughter of his father’s friends when she joined for internship under his mother. When everything is going well and when Arjun is about to confess his love for Anjali to his parents, they goes missing and a series of bomb blasts happen around the city. What happened to their parents? What is the story behind the bomb blasts? How Arjun solves this mystery forms the rest of the story.
Cast and performance
Chai Akkineni as Arjun is superb and he is at ease in his character. He is good in action sequences and looks handsome throughout the movie. Lavanya Tripati performed nice and looks gorgeous. She has maintained good chemistry with Chai Akkineni in love sequences. Srikanth Meka who is the main protagonist of this movie called Nayak is terrific. He maintained well convincing body language and is so menacing in his role. Rao Ramesh and Revathi are superb as parents of Chai Akkineni. Vinodh Kumar, Raja Ravindra, Kireeti, Priyadarshi and all other actors are good in their roles.
Storyline of this Yuddham Sharanam is thin. It is written well and in a thrilling way into a movie screenplay. Dialogues are good and situational. Lyrics written for the songs are good and sounds fresh.
Songs composed by Vidya Sagar of Pellichoopulu fame are nice and they are refreshing to hear. He has done superb job in making background score. Cinematography by debutante Niketh Bommireddy is superb and he is surprisingly good for his debut movie. Editing by Kripakaran who is also a debutante is good. Stunts and action sequences are choreographed well. Production values of Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram are apt.
Chai Akkineni as Arjun
Music by Vidya Sagar
Cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy
Yuddham Sharanam is a movie which runs with a routine and thin story line. It is about a battle between a normal and young guy Arjun and a cut throat criminal, who is proud of his network, Nayak. Arjun has his family to lose and Nayak has his network. How hero overcomes his fear of losing his family and how he wins over Nayak is the movie. First half of the movie is good with the family bonding, emotions and love track between the lead. Second half is all about play between Arjun and Nayak which is not so entertaining. Audience gets tired in this half and slow pace of the movie makes it even worse. Director Krishna has done pretty average job in directing his debut movie. He could have taken a better care for the movie even in scripting stages to make it racy. To sum up, Yuddham Sharanam is a disappointing fare.
