The Telugu Desam on Friday alleged that tenders for the Polavaram project were being tailor-made to favour those close to government adviser, Dr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao. The TD also demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the liquor dealings and tenders. For the first time, only one tender has been issued for building the spillway, rock-fill dam and power house of Genco and the clauses are tailor-made to favour a Delhi-based company, according to the TD. “Earlier, the government invited foreign companies for projects. But in the case of Polavaram, they have been banned. Why?, asked a TD leader, Mr S.C. Reddy.
