Nagarjuna’s father and late legendary actor Nageswara Rao is well known for his romantic acts. He never shied away from playing pranks with his co-stars, off-screen. Yesteryear heroine Sumalatha, in one of her recent interviews, revealed that Nageswara Rao asked her to marry his son, Nagarjuna.
Sumalatha said, ‘On a fine day when I was shooting, Nageswara Rao sir came to me and said that he had selected a perfect guy for me who will soon come from Foreign. He even assured to talk with my parents if I agree. When I questioned, who that man was, he said it was his son, Nagarjuna, who was yet to become an actor then’.
Sumalatha, however, didn’t say if she had accepted the proposal or not.
