Kollywood media is abuzz with the news of legendary Hollywood actor Al Pacino being approached to play a key role in Dhanush’s new film. It is being seen as either a casting coup or just a publicity gimmick for the actor’s new film ‘Kodi’.
When questioned, Karthik Subbaraj of ‘Pizza’ fame, the new film’s director said that nothing has been confirmed yet. He neither denied nor accorded to the news of Al Pacino being approached. As the project is said to be shot mostly in the US, some people believe the possibility of Pacino getting involved in the project.
On the other hand, a section of media is ridiculing this news as a publicity stunt to keep Dhanush’s October 28 release ‘Kodi’ (Dharma Yogi in Telugu) in news. Post the success of VIP, the talented actor had half a dozen releases but none of them was a success. He badly needs a hit so was this PR gimmick for ‘Kodi’, says a few media houses.
For the starters, Al Pacino is a 76-year-old American actor who has won several awards including Oscar in a career spanning more than fifty years. He is best remembered for “The Godfather” series and is ranked among the greatest of the great Hollywood legends.
