Legendary South cinema actress Gopishantha aka Manorama has expired on Saturday, i.e., 10th October and was cremated the following day.
Very soon after knowing her death news, Tamil industry stopped all its shootings and functions as a guard of honour. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jaya Lalitha, Ex-CM DMK chief Karunanidhi, Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Sharath Kumar, Vijay and many other political and cinema personalities visited her for the last time.
Through the final journey, she was sent off with flowers and heart full of tears across the way and Tamil Nadu.
Manorama’s body was cremated at 6:30 at Milapur graveyard. In her acting career that lasted for six decades, she starred opposite huge names in the south industry such as Rajni Kanth, Kamal Hassan, NTR, MJR, Chiranjeevi, Vijay and many more.
She also entered the Guinness World Record for appearing in more than 1500 films. She was also awarded with Padma Sri by the Indian Government in 2002.
