Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been conferred with an honorary doctorate at the sixth convocation of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANU) in Hyderabad on Monday.
President Pranab Mukherjee presented the doctorate to SRK for his extraordinary contribution to Urdu language and culture. Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan, Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mohammad Mahmood Ali, MANU Vice-Chancellor Zafar Younus Sareshwala and many other dignitaries graced the event.
After receiving the honor, SRK expressed his gratitude and recollected his connection with the city. ‘Hyderabad is the birth place of my mother and I have a spiritual connection with this city. My parents would have been proud if they were alive to see this day,’ he added.
SRK Receives Doctorate from MANU
Aamir Khan was also conferred with the doctorate by MANU in 2013.
