Following the tweet by Sonu Nigam in which he criticized Azaan in loudspeakers, a priest from West Bengal said he would reward anybody who shaves Sonu Nigam’s head. After this declaration, Sonu Nigam brought in a hairstylist, and shaved off his head. Doing this he asked the cleric to pay the hairstylist, to which the cleric refused saying it was only one of the three conditions.
Going into details, following Sonu’s Azaan statement, he was censured by many and was being called anti-Muslim etc. to which he responded by saying that he is not anti-Muslim, and he talked about all the other religions too when he said loudspeakers was a form of forced religiousness. But since, many did not bother to go through all his statements, Sonu was depicted as somebody who has pointed fingers only to the Muslim form of prayers.
A priest from West Bengal, Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, with whatever knowledge he had about the incident, promised that anybody who will shave the head of Sonu Nigam will be rewarded with Rs. 10 lakh. When Sonu heard bout this, he brought in celebrity hairstylist Ali Hakim and soon emerged with his head shaved. Following this, he asked Quaderi to fulfill his promise and pay Ali Hakim with the amount of Rs. 10 lakh. And that is when Quaderi perhaps remembered that he does not have that amount and came up with a new clause.
In the meanwhile, Sonu said he is not anti-Muslim in any way and his shaving of the head is not a challenge to anyone or any religion.
