Salman Khan’s New Record with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

Bollywood muscle man Salman Khan latest flick ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ has gained a positive talk for the first show and is eyeing a huge speaking of box office collections.

‘Prem Ratna Dhan Payo’ has already grossed 100 Cr and is being bullish as per the trade talk. This film that zipped a whopping 40 Cr on day one stands second after Shah Rukh’s ‘Happy New Year’ that fetched 42 Cr on Diwali 2014.

PRDP has also done something unique that now stands as the landmark in Indian Cinema. With expecting a huge turnover, makers of this film released it across 4800 theaters in Indian sub-continent. This is the highest release till date for any Bollywood film. Following the list is ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ with 4500 theaters, ‘PK’ with 4500 Theaters, Dhoom 3 that was released in 4000 and Chennai Express with 3500.

While the subcontinent numbers are lying in 4K, overseas have just made the 1K landmark. ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ was released in 1200 theaters overseas making the first Indian film to do so. Following this were ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ that was released in 700 theaters, ‘PK’ 600, ‘Dhoom 3’ 600 and Chennai Express with 650 theatrers respectively.

‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is Salman’s ninth consecutive film that has crossed the 100 crore mark. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, this film was released on November 12th.
