The Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee’s much touted “Sakala Janula Samme” mass agitation programme has been postponed to September 13.
The T-employees JAC steering committee, which met here on Tuesday, decided to postpone the employees’ stir scheduled to begin from September 6 in view of Ganesh Chaturthi and immersion ceremony.
The employees’ stir was earlier postponed twice due to pressure from Muslim and Hindu leaders as well as political parties due to Ramzan and other festivals. The stir was initially scheduled for August 17, but was postponed to September 6.
The current postponement was reportedly due to pressure from BJP, an ally of the Telangana Joint Action Committee.
The TJAC convenor, Prof. Kodandaram, who chaired the steering committee of the employees’ JAC welcomed the Telangana Telugu Desam Forum MLAs meeting the panchayat raj minister, Mr K. Jana Reddy, to discuss the resignation issue and for the intensifying the Telangana movement.(DC)
