Story

Adi Tomar aka Adi (R. Madhavan), who happens to be a coach of the girls boxing team by Profession. With the dirty politics, he gets transferred to Chennai. Adi looks for a girl who has the much required passion and fire to achieve. His search ends in the most unlikely person for the job Madhi (Ritika Singh), who, despite being a fisherwoman by profession, is a born talent in boxing who adores Mohammad Ali and Adi agrees to pay her money per day for training. On the other hand, Madhi’s elder sister Lakshmi aka Laks (Mumtaz Sorcar) also happens to be a boxer wanting to get into police department so that she can take care of the family. With having jealousy on her sister, she plays tricks and fails her sister in a match. Things twist up in an unexpected way and Madhi ends up in jail. What action of Madhi leads her to be jailed, who is the person who tries to take advantage of her, does Adi ever get to coach his once favourite student Madhi all over again, what ultimately happens to Adi and Madhi is what forms the rest of the story.

Cast and Performance

R Madhavan as Adi is excellent. His gigantic cutout is apt for the role and his powerful performance takes movie to a greater heights. His expressions speaks a lot in climax. Ritika Singh, who is a boxer by profession is a perfect selection for her role. She performed equally to R Madhavan. Her performance makes us to forget that it is her debut film. Her transformation from a naughty girl to responsible girl is superb. Another newcomer Mumtaz Sarcar did a nice job as Lakshmi aka Laks, sister of Madhi. Nassar, Radha Ravi, Zakir, Kaali Venkat did what is required for their small roles.

Movie runtime is short and is a huge bonus for this movie. It is very crispy with its spell bounding screenplay and sharp dialogues. Finest filmmaking and superb writing with Santosh Narayan’s superb background music adds to this movie. Casting of the movie is so good that their performance talks more. Last 20-30 minutes of the movie is too excellent and we can’t even take our eyes off screen. To sum up, it’s a superb comeback for Madhavan aka Maddie.
