Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV) successfully conducted the 17th annual Telugu cultural competitions and celebrated Ugadi on May 01 2010 at the Tendriffin Middle School, Berwyn, PA, USA.
The program started off with a welcome address from the TAGDV president Mrs. Saroja Sagaram followed by several kids performing traditional Telugu cultural programs. The prime time program in the evening was felicitated by several chief guests. The presence of guest of honor Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the highlight, his one hour performance was well received by packed audience with a nonstop standing ovation. Leader movie heroine Richa Gagopdhyay and actor Ravi Varma also presided over the function and distributed prizes for the winners. Other special guests, Movie director Ramesh Varma, Mallipuvu hero Murali and TTD board member Sri. Chevi Reddy Bhaskar Reddy also made elegant appearance which was an added treat for the audience. TAGDV Vice President Mrs. Sailaja Adluru and other TAGDV executive members felicitated the chief guests.
The participants and guests were treated with traditional Andhra vindhu bojanam.
The program coordinators and its sponsors contributed towards the success of this tradition amidst current economic conditions. Senior Community Leaders and Volunteers worked hard to make this event successful.
The program ended with a delightful music concert by Nandi Award Winner Mrs. USHA.
The new TAGDV management team under the leadership of Mrs. Sailaja Adluru took in charge of the organization for next two year.
