This Hyderabadi girl who debuted in Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi only to move on to the Tamil and Malayalam film industry, is now homebound. Meet Padmapriya Janakiraman, who, after taking the South by storm and making it big in Bollywood in the Siddharth-starrer Striker, is now geared up for a Tollywood comeback.
Talking about her Houdini act in the Telugu film industry, Padmapriya says, “I am based in the city and of course, I want to act in Tollywood. But nothing was pre-planned, things just never worked out. But now with Striker being dubbed in Telugu and being well-received, I am looking forward to doing more work in Tollywood,” says Padmapriya, who is busy working on a Tollywood flick Andari Bhanduvaya and has several other Telugu films in her kitty.
Speaking about her Bollywood plans she adds, “I have never planned out any of my moves and even Striker was not planned. It just happened. It feels great that I finally got a break in Bollywood. Considering Hindi is one language I speak and write well, I naturally want to keep trying my luck here.”
Ask her if her Bollywood break translates into a shift in base and she says, “I am and will always be based in Hyderabad, but I have a home in Mumbai as well. For the betterment of my career, I will keep shuttling between the two cities.”(DC)
