Noted Malayalam actress Dhanya Mary Varghese and her actor-husband John Jacob were reportedly arrested in a cheating case.
As per reports, as many as 50 persons complained against the couple saying they had booked apartments with the couple’s company Samson and Sons Builders, based in Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu, but the flats have not been delivered yet.
The complainants in the case alleged that the firm collected sums ranging from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 1 Cr and Dhanya and her relatives have been evading them regarding their agreement. The money was collected way back in 2011 John’s father Jacob Samson was arrested in 2014 regarding this case.
As Dhanya is a noted actress in Malayalam and Tamil film industries, her arrest has become a talking point in film circles.
