A 28-year-old engineer from Modinagar area of Ghaziabad has alleged that her husband — employed with a top MNC in Noida — had clicked her obscene pictures and then circulated them among his friends.
The woman alleged that when she protested she was beaten up and forced out of her in-laws’ house. The Sihani Gate police has registered a case against the husband under several sections of the IPC and IT Act. According to the police, the victim came close to the accused (29) in 2000 while they were studying engineering in the same institute. They got married in 2002 with the consent of both the families. The couple were blessed with a son.
‘‘Problems started after the accused left for US in 2006. Once there, the accused allegedly began sending obscene photos asking her to comment on them. When she refused, she was threatened over phone and explicit messages implicating her were sent on her mobile. After the accused returned in 2008, he began carrying a pen camera with him along with a mobile fitted with a camera. It was during this period that the accused forcibly took obscene photos of the victim and sent them to his friends. When she objected, she was beaten up and thrown out of the house in January 2009,’’ said the cops.
The police said it was the girl’s father, a reputed doctor, who approached the SSP in July. ‘‘We tried to hold counselling sessions for the couple but we found that the accused was carrying a pen camera. We have seized the camera,’’ said police.
