There are a very few instances in our Telugu film industry where our actors did triple roles in a single film. Sr. NTR, ANR, Krishna, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna had done that and no one in younger generation has dared to do that. But, there is an actor who has the capability to mesmerize audience just with his intense performance for any given role and he is now coming with Jai Lava Kusa which marks his performance of triple roles as Jai, Lava and Kusa which is produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under his NTR arts banner and which is being directed by Bobby to who scored a disaster with his previous Pawan Kalyan starrer. Everyone is shocked when NTR gave chance to this flop director and let’s see how he convinced NTR to do a film in his direction.
Story
Jai, Lava and Kusa (NTR) are three brother who look alike. They are famous for the dramas they act. Due to disability of stammering, Lava and Kusa along with their uncle (Posani Krishna Murali) ignores Jai and makes him a puppet for their chores. Jai, who want to prove himself and create his own identity is hurt very badly and he transforms himself into Raavana, inspired by the Ramayana character. He sets the stage on fire and decides to kill Lava and Kusa. They all survive the fire accident and how they meet with a bonding of brotherhood after twenty years form the rest of the story.
Cast and Performance
Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, NTR in short is the biggest and the biggest image of the movie. His performance as Jai will be remembered for a very long time. Everything he has done for Jai role in terms of diction, body language and expressions are terrific. Lava is lovable and NTR again mesmerized with his innocent and calming expressions. Kusa is witty and this is again seeing NTR at his another best which seemed like the mix of Chari from Adhurs and Raja from Yamadonga. Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas are good and looked good. Posani Krishna Murali is nice. Sai Kumar and Ronit Roy excelled in their roles. All other actors are good in their given roles.
Writing Department
Story of this Jai Lava Kusa is simple and routine. Screenplay is good and dialogues are superb in some sequences and Kona’s rhyming could have avoided.
Technical Departments
Songs composed by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad are nice and Raavana and Nee kallalona are chartbusters. Every song works well in the movie with the moves of NTR. DSP did a good job in composing background score and the song that comes during climax and childhood sequences of Jai Lava Kusa is superb with well written lyrics. Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is superb and he has done a fantastic job in handling three roles with the support of vfx team which did a nice job. Editing could have been better and action sequences are composed well. Art department did a nice job and production values are apt.

Verdict
Jai Lava Kusa is a story of brotherhood. It revolves around Jai who lost himself in the name of Raavana, a character from Ramayana due to the behavior of his brothers and his uncle in his childhood. The journey and transformation of Jai into Raavana and Raavana into Jai in the end is the core plot. This movie couldn’t have possible without NTR. His acting potentiality can be clearly experienced with the three diverse roles he played in this movie. Director Bobby could have concentrated more on his screenplay to make Jai Lava Kusa even better one. To summarise, Jai Lava Kusa is NTR one man show.
