Families help an actor as just backup to get into the movies. Ultimately it’s up to the actor to prove himself and build his image among audience. Many actors came from many families and some are struggling to prove their existence and some are struggling to get solid hits. He has been struggling to get a solid hit for a long time. He is now coming up with Gunturodu which is said to be out and out commercial film targeted for mass audience under the direction of Satya who earlier directed a movie with Naveen Chandra. Let’s see how it works on us!

Kanna (Manoj Manchu) is very hyper and aggressive from childhood who lives in Guntur since childhood. He ends up in a huge fight with a powerful criminal lawyer Seshu (Sampath Raj) and injures him badly. Seshu helds grudge on him and decide to kill Kanna at any cost and start thinking about him and targets his family. At the same time, Kanna falls for a girl named Amritha (Pragya Jaiswal) and start following her. When she becomes positive about their relationship he happens to know that she is the sister of Seshu with whom he had a clash before. How he solve his problems with Seshu? How he marry Amritha forms the rest of the story.

Cast and Performance

Manchu Manoj as Kanna is super aggressive and performed well. He is too good in the high octane action sequences and his body is an added advantage for them and his dialogue delivery impress masses to the core despite his looks. Pragya Jaiswal is gorgeous with her looks and just okay with her performance as Amritha. Sampath raj got a superb role and he performed it with lot of intensity and did full justice to the character. It is his one of the finest performance till date. Kota Srinivasarao and Rajendra prasad are nice in their roles. Rao Ramesh, Praveen and Satya are okay.

Editing is good but second half could have been better if edited out certain scenes. Action sequences are composed well which suit the body language of Manoj Manchu. Production values are apt.

Verdict
Right from the beginning of the promotions Manoj Manchu and team Gunturodu has promoted this film as an out and out commercial film. To be frank, the movie is full of commercial entertainment and is promoted in the right way. Script and character is well suited for Manoj Manchu and he is superb throughout the movie except for his looks. Audience are much entertained when he is uttering dialogues and when he punches in action sequences. Scenes between hero and villain are well written which entertains audience to the core. Those who expect comedy this movie will be a biggest disappointment as it don’t have it and love story between Pragya Jaiswal and Manoj is weak. There are some scenes beyond logic which are okay in a commercial film where hero is beyond anything and anyone. Though the movie is the mix of movies what we have been seeing for a very long time, Director Satya packaged it in a nice way to reach masses. He succeeded in making Gunturodu a commercial entertainer which entertains masses with Manchu Manoj as a cutout.
