Noted filmmaker Gunasekhar, who has made the historical biopic of ‘Rudramadevi’ in his previous attempt, has earlier announced that he would direct the story of Rudramadevi’s grandson Prathaparudrudu is his next project. However, Guna seems to have changed his mind now.
Instead of a historical film, he has decided to make a mythological film. The director is reportedly planning to direct a film ‘Hiranyakashipa’, based on the story of Bhakta Prahlada. Interestingly, instead of naming the film after Prahlada, he chose to title the project after Prahlada’s father ‘Hiranyakashipa’.
Reliable sources have divulged that the title was recently registered at Film Chamber on Gunaa Team Works banner. He is currently in talks with a big Tamil star to play the role of Hiranyakashipa. His keenness to rope in a Tamil hero is to make the film saleable in Telugu as well as Tamil states.
The role of Prahlada will be essayed by a child artiste.
