TDP’s Krishna district chief and and MLA, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was arrested this morning alongwith ten party workers at Gollapudi village, in connection with stone-pelting at the car of state minister K Pardhasaradhi on Friday.
Rao, an MLA from Mylavaram, and others were produced before a judicial magistrate, and were given bail afterwards.
The alleged stone-pelting at the minister’s car had occurred at Reddygudem village in Krishna district. The Minister had come there to take part in Andhra Pradesh government’s Rachabanda programme.
Demanding that water be released through Nagarjunasagar canals for the sake of local farmers, TDP workers had tried to stop the minister’s car.(PTI)
