Actress turned politician Fathima has now landed in a controversy. Ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, Fathima has recently campaigned for the ruling AIADMK party in few villages in Erode district. MMK party has now complained to the Election Commission alleging that Fathima’s speech was defaming Muslim community.
MMK further said that Fathima, who converted to Islam from Hinduism, has no right to make statements against Islam community. Many Muslim organizations have also complained to EC that Fathima’s speech was demeaning and it might pursue Muslim community people to resort to violence.
After receiving the complaint, EC has promised that it will look into the matter. An enquiry has already been ordered in this issue. With elections being just a few days away, all political parties are trying their level best to bring down their opponents.
