Cho Ramaswamy Breathed His Last

Senior actress, Ramya Krishna’s uncle and late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s good friend Cho Ramaswamy, passed away at Apollo Hospitals in the early morning of Wednesday in Chennai.

Ramaswamy, 82, was survived by his wife, son and a daughter. Reportedly, he had been undergoing treatment at Apollo for many days. Cho had a close association with Jayalalithaa, and it may be noted that he breathed his last a few hours after the Tamil Nadu CM was announced dead.

Ramaswamy was a multifaceted personality. He was a journalist, political analyst, artiste, playwright, and editor. He founded and was the editor of the popular magazine Thuglak. He also has directed five films and wrote the screenplay for 14 movies. Cho acted in 89 movies and shared screen space with legends such as MGR, Shivaji Ganesan, Jayalalithaa, Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth and many others.
