The film was made on a budget of Rs.55 crores and released on 27 September 2013 and it ended up making Rs.187 crores becoming the highest grossing Telugu film ever until the record was broken by Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015. The film won many awards and to name a few, it received 4 Filmfare Awards, 6 SIIMA Awards, and 6 Santosham Film Awards and it also won the B.Nagi Reddy Memorial Award. The film is one of the best works of Trivikram as it reached out to the youth as well as the family audience. In 2015, Pawan Kalyan starred with Daggubati Venkatesh in ‘Gopala Gopala’ which is the remake of the Bollywood film ‘OMG-Oh my God’ based on a Gujarati play called ‘Kanji Viruddh Kanji’.
