CBI submits report on Jagan’s assets

HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Tuesday submitted to the Andhra Pardesh High Court a report on the assets held by YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

The report was submitted in a sealed cover. The court is likely to fix the date of next hearing after going through it.

The court had asked the CBI to conduct the preliminary investigations and submit its report in two weeks.

The court passed the orders on the petitions of state Textile Minister Shankar Rao, TDP leader Yerran Naidu and an advocate, who alleged that the Kadapa MP amassed huge wealth illegally when his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was chief minister.

CBI officials said during the last 13 days they recorded statements of 23 companies and sought information from various government departments.

The agency sought details from companies which allegedly made huge investments in Jagan’s businesses in return for the benefits they availed from the government.(IANS)
