Cinema can move you, inspire you and even make you go crazy. It can make you fall in love or infatuate with a “reel” character. How many dialogues do you remember? While some audiences seem to find a hero, others like to shake a leg from their favorite Bollywood numbers; others seem to take a serious message from out of their favorite flicks. However, there are some movies that inspire a whole generation of people, and are completely “paisa vasool”!
We take a look
1.Swades
This one was a class apart, where a NASA scientist feels the deep-rooted connection with his watan and comes back to serve it. Wow! The movie inspired many NRIs to think about their native towns and villages. Inspiring!
2.Black
It is one of the rarest Bollywood movies, to be made on differently abled individuals. This one glorified the handicapped, which was much needed for our society. The movie was so intense and emotional, it inspired many individuals to participate in philanthropy and help the handicapped.
3.Rang De Basanti
The power of youth is best portrayed in this movie. Well before “SaddaHaq”! The whole idea of candle-lit marches and protests at India Gate is something inspired by this movie. The movie highlighted how not to turn a blind eye on social and political injustice. Kudos!
4.Chak De India
Women and sports, these two words were considered to antonyms some years ago. Chak De India is so moving that one is left mesmerized by the idea of women excelling at a male-dominated sport. These ladies won more than hearts, they won the world cup!!
5.Taare Zameen Par
Who had thought about dyslexia among children and how not to treat every child equally? Some children need extra love and understanding and this idea was widely promoted by this movie. It did succeed!
6.3 Idiots
Finally, what a relief it was. Phew! Someone finally told the “parent” generation that it is okay not to be an engineer. Also, someone told the more self-obsessed younger generation to be real and be themselves, instead of living a notion of a life.
7.PK
The movie stirred great social change against fake God’s men and we all are still not over it. The movie raised many questions, answered some and changed the common perception of the masses regarding religion as an institute. It was one of the biggest success stories of Bollywood, even in countries like China, need we say more!
8. Bajrangi Bhaijaan
This is the latest addition. Salman Khan Fans aside, this movie was equally loved and adored by everyone alike. The movie was so intense that many had to leave the movie hall, teary-eyed. Talking about the social change, the movie has impacted the common sense of hatred among people of both countries, India and Pakistan. There is a prevalent sense of neutrality and social media sites have been buzzing with such trends, of lately. Call it the impact of the movie, Pakistan government sent back a long-lost mute girl, back to India, who had crossed the border somehow. Fascinating!
