A Street in America Named After Jayalalitha

In an effort to pay tribute to the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, a street in the US has reportedly been rechristened after her.

America Street Name Jayalalitha
America Street Name Jayalalitha

This Street is the meeting point of Chicago Way Avenue, Devon Avenue and North Sheridan in Illinois. The state’ Governor Edgar has made an official statement in this regard after Senator Howard W Kerol requested him to do so in the honor for Jayalalithaa. Inspired by Tamil Nadu model, a police station was set up in Illinois to serve the needs of women.

Jayalalithaa had been a powerful leader, and during her reign, she had introduced several schemes for the welfare of poor. All that service looks to be paying off post her demise.
