1.) 3 Idiots:

Now, why would anyone reject Rajkumar Hirani or Aamir Khan to work with? Apparently Kajol is said to turn down the offer of 3 Idiots because she has allotted dates for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘My Name is Khan.’

Once Kajol rejecting the offer, Kareena was roped into the final cast. By rejecting 3 Idiots, Kajol simply missed a huge hit. We all know how 3 Idiots was received post release.

2.) Chalte Chalte:

This 2003 blockbuster has a Twist in Tale. Though the original film saw Rani Mukerji as the heroine, it was Aishwarya Rai and Kajol who should have done the film.

During the filming of ‘Chalte Chalte,’ Aishwarya was roped in as heroine and later was dropped off because of her then boyfriend Salman Khan who is said to have disrupted the film. Later on the role was offer to Kajol. With Kajol rejecting the offer Rani was in the final cast.

3.) Dil Se:

It’s been seventeen years of Dil Se. This Mani Ratnam’s romantic thriller that was released in 1998 has turned out to become one of the biggest musical hits ever in Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan plays the lead role of Radio executive in this. Manisha Koirala is the heroine ‘Dil Se.’ In this too it was Kajol who was first preferred by Mani Ratnam as heroine, but she couldn’t make it final because of her dates issue.

Yash Chopra directed this 1997 musical romantic film. This film fetched National Award for Best Supporting Actress for Karisma Kapoor. Eventually Kapoor’s role was Kajol, by denying acting in supporting roles Kajol missed not only a blockbuster but also the National Award.

5.) Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna:

Karan Johar’s 2006 blockbuster KANK was something different from all of his films. Karan was strong on casting his best friend Kajol in this but couldn’t do so. Since Kajol was shooting for Aamir’s ‘Fanaa,’ she had to deny the film.

This dramatic Musical film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starred Salman Khan, Nana Patekar and Manisha Koirala in the lead roles. As per Bhansali’s vision, it was Kajol who should have been the lead heroine instead of Manisha. But it was Kajol’s decision for dropping this film. Manisha Koirala bagged Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance that year.

7.)Veer Zara:

Yash Chopra’s another romantic drama film ‘Veer Zara’ saw Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles. They say that Kajol rejected the offer of Zaara since there wasn’t any scope for performance.
