The range of Malayalam films is very small when compared to Telugu and Tamil films. However, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has recently set an unprecedented record with his films collecting more than 200 crores in a span of just two months.
Mohanlal’s box office success streak started with NTR’s Janatha Garage. The film collected around 130 crore gross worldwide. Later, Mohanlal’s Malayalam film ‘Oppam’ was released and it also created a sensation at box office by minting 50 crore, which is very huge for a Malayalam movie.
With his latest release ‘Puli Murugan’, Mohanlal rewrote the history books as he scored yet another industry hit. The action adventure film is inching towards 100 cr collections from the Malayalam version alone. It is also the first Malayalam film to collect 100 crores at the box office.
With three blockbusters in a span of two months, Mohanlal has reportedly set a record with more than 200 crores to his name.
